Frequently Asked Questions
GOT
QUESTIONS?
We get a lot of the same questions. Here are honest answers. If you don't see what you're looking for, just reach out, we're real people.
Getting Started
I've never done this before. Is it really okay for beginners?
Yes. Ignite, our flagship class, is open to all levels. Every session includes a Spark track — scaled movements and smart modifications — so you train alongside experienced athletes without being thrown in the deep end. Coaches scale every movement to your current ability. Most of our members started exactly where you are.
What should I expect at my first class?
Arrive 10-15 minutes early. A coach will meet you, learn your name and goals, and walk you through what to expect. You'll warm up with the group, get coached through every movement, and finish with a cool-down. After class, your coach will check in and help you plan next steps.
What should I wear and bring?
Athletic shoes (cross-trainers or flat-soled shoes work best), comfortable workout clothes, and a water bottle. That's it. Arrive 10-15 minutes early so we have time to meet you before class.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
No. Seriously. We hear this all the time. You don't get in shape before joining a gym, you join a gym to get in shape. Our coaches meet you exactly where you are.
What's the difference between The Forge and a regular gym?
At a regular gym, you're on your own. You figure out what to do, how to do it, and whether you're doing it right. At The Forge, a certified coach leads every class, plans every workout, and watches your form. You also train alongside a community of people who will know your name and care if you show up.
Programs
Which program should I start with?
Start with Ignite — it's our flagship class and it's open to everyone. Every session has a Spark (scaled) track built in, so modifications are always available. Just let a coach know it's your first time and they'll take care of the rest.
Can I switch programs?
Yes. Your coach will help you transition when the time is right. There's no penalty or process, just a conversation with your coach.
What is Forged in Fire and how do I get in?
Forged in Fire is our advanced program for experienced athletes. It requires approval from the coaching staff. It's not a starting point, it's a destination for athletes who have put in the work.
Are the workouts the same every day?
No. Programming is varied and planned weeks in advance. You'll never do the same workout twice in a given cycle. Every session includes a warm-up, a strength or skill component, and a conditioning piece.
